Shardul Thakur from Playing Xi Says Sunil Gavaskar Kuldeep Yadav indes VS English 2nd Test

Shardul Thakur returned to the Indian Test team after 2 years as an all -rounder and showing confidence in him against England, the team management also gave him a chance to play in the playing XI, but his poor performance disappointed everyone. Now former India captain and opener batsman Sunil Gavaskar has demanded to exclude him from the playing XI for the second Test match to be played at Edgbaston.

Shardul Thakur made a place in the Test team after performing well at the domestic level and was believed to do something well, but it could not happen and he failed from both the ball and the bat. In the first innings of the first Test, he did not take any wicket for 38 runs in 6 overs. After this, two wickets in the second innings took two wickets in which both Ben Docket and Harry Brook were dismissed on the important occasion but they could not continue the performance later.

His contribution in the team in terms of batting was not good and after that the question arises whether his place in the team is valid or Team India can consider an expert bowler to improve their bowling attack. Gavaskar suggested that the left -arm wrist -spinner Kuldeep Yadav could get help on Birmingham pitch and supported the Chinaman bowler to choose the team for the second Test.

After the match, Gavaskar said on Star Sports that whether Jaspreet Bumrah is fit or not, I think Kuldeep Yadav should come to Kotim. I believe that he should replace the team in place of Shardul Thakur as the pitch of Birmingham will be such that the wrist spinner will get some help. He also mentioned that there is a need to keep a close watch on both Sai Sudarshan and Karun Nair, as well as the inclusion of a player like Washington Sundar in the playing XI may bring some variation in a bowling attack which looks quite simple.
