AAP accused BJP government of shutting down the ‘angel of Delhi’

New Delhi. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) -led Delhi government of shutting down the ‘Farishte Delhi’ scheme. Under the ‘Farishte Delhi’s scheme’ scheme, people injured in road accidents are provided free medical facilities in private hospitals. The BJP has not responded immediately to this allegation of AAP.
Saurabh Bhardwaj, head of ‘AAP’ Delhi unit and former Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj claimed that this initiative launched by the previous ‘AAP’ helped to save the lives of thousands of people, but now it is being closed. Bhardwaj questioned, “How can anyone stop a good plan that saves people’s lives?” The BJP government has removed it from the budget. ”

Under the ‘Farishte Delhi’s’ scheme launched by the then Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in 2017, the injured in road accidents are treated in private hospitals and the government bears the entire cost of treatment, so that the passenger is encouraged to help the injured without fear of financial burden. According to ‘AAP’, more than 10,000 people were saved under this initiative.

Bhardwaj claimed that even during his tenure as Health Minister, officials appointed by the Lieutenant Governor tried to discontinue the scheme. He said that ‘AAP’ had to knock the door of the Supreme Court, after which funds were released to continue the scheme. Bhardwaj alleged, “The BJP failed to close the scheme through the Lieutenant Governor. Now after coming to power, he has completely stopped it.
