Ajit Pawar spoke on the law and order of Pune, if the police is unable to deal with crime then…

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that if the police is unable to curb crime in Pune despite being given all the infrastructural support and no political interference in its work, then there may be something lacking in it. Maharashtra’s second largest city is often in the news for ‘Koyta’ gangs, which get their name from the sickle-type long bladed weapons used to cut down opponents. Many of these attacks have been captured on CCTV, which has increased fear and distress among ordinary citizens.

Ajit Pawar said that the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and I have taken cognizance of this because I represent this part of the state. We do not allow any political interference in such things. Despite so much freedom and lots of facilities which include infrastructure, manpower, housing, new offices in Pimpri Chinchwad, SP office and CP office. He said that even now senior police officers are failing to control crime. If they are unable to handle it, they should tell us that it is not in their hands, then we will bring better officers here to control this menace. I will review it with senior officials today.

On the murder of Beed Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, the Deputy Chief Minister said that several investigating agencies, be it CID SIT or police, are probing the case. He said that if anyone is found guilty, action will be taken against him. I also talked to the CM about this. If anyone is found guilty at the top level, action will be taken. We are in the same line. He clearly said that no one will be spared. It was a brutal murder. There will be no injustice to anyone.
