Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated several projects worth Rs 241 crore in Gujarat’s Mansa. State CM Bhupendra Patel, Home Minister Harsh Shanghvi and others were present during the program. During his address, Shah highlighted the transformative efforts made by PM Narendra Modi to tackle the state’s water scarcity challenges during his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister.

He inaugurated several development projects including Mansa Circuit House, a security wall near Neelkanth Mahadev, a check dam at Badarpura village and class blocks at Charada and Delwada villages. He also laid the foundation stone of 23 additional projects including barrage on Sabarmati river at Ambod village. Shah said that this barrage will greatly benefit the local farmers, while the check dam will have a positive impact on the lives of the children of the area.

Shah said groundwater in Gujarat was once available at a depth of 1,200 feet, but it was made more accessible due to the efforts of PM Modi because as chief minister he launched the Narmada Project to raise the water level in entire Gujarat including Kutch and Saurashtra. Work was done by giving priority to its completion. He emphasized that PM Modi has overcome all obstacles to successfully implement the Narmada Project. Shah further said that even after PM Modi assumed the post of Prime Minister, Narmada river water was made available to every house in the state.
