Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated the new Multi-Agency Center (MAC) in the North Block of New Delhi, underlining the government’s unwavering commitment to strengthen India’s national security and intelligence structure. Speaking at the inauguration, Shah described ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a notable evidence of the country’s increased strategic and operating capacity. He credited the success of the operation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong political will, accurate and timely intelligence and the accurate firepower of India’s armed forces. ‘Operation Sindoor is a unique symbol of PM Modi’s unwavering determination, accuracy of our intelligence agencies and the errorless firepower of our three armed forces.

The newly constructed Multi-agency Center (MAC) works under the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and serves as a nodal platform for uninterrupted coordination and information exchange between various security and intelligence agencies across the country. The new feature is expected to improve the internal and-agency synergy in sharing real-time intelligence, accelerating the reaction system and dealing with internal and external hazards. Shah emphasized the need for the safety ecosystem prepared for a future, which will be able to effectively respond to emerging challenges, especially the challenges arising from terrorism and extremism.

A day earlier, Amit Shah visited the AIIMS Trauma Center in Delhi to meet five security personnel who were recently injured during the recent anti-Naxal campaign in the Karegutta hills on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, to meet five security personnel injured during ‘Operation Black Forest’ and get information about their health.
This operation, which lasted for 21 days, is considered one of the biggest coordinated campaigns against the Maoist rebels so far. As a result, 31 top Naxalites including several wanted commanders were eliminated.
The injured personnel include:
Assistant Commandant Sagar Borade (204 Cobra Battalion)
Head constable Munish Chand Sharma (203 Cobra)
Constable Dhanu Ram (204 Cobra)
Constable Krishna Kumar Gurjar (196 CRPF)
Constable Santosh Murami (District Reserve Guard, Chhattisgarh Police)
Sources confirmed that Shah interacted with medical staff and took feedback about the status and treatment of the injured personnel.
