Border authorities have arrested an Indian citizen living illegally in the US, who was wanted on charges of child abuse. Gurdev Singh (42) was arrested on Wednesday by US Customs and Border Security (CBP) officials at the Port of Chemplane Border Crossing in New York.
An arrest warrant of a serious crime from Indiana was continuing against Singh. Singh was handed over to New York State Police as a fugitive by CBP officials. He is currently in custody in Clinton County Sheriff Office and is waiting for extradition.
CBP officials got a lion when he was refused to enter Canada. During its primary inspection, the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) indicated that Singh was desired for cases of child temptation, temptation for sexual intercourse in Indiana.
Singh was taken into custody by CBP officials and was taken to a secondary investigation area for further investigation. Officials identified Singh and confirmed the arrest warrant issued against him.
In addition, on inspecting lion’s belongings, the authorities found several sharp weapons including swords and ax. Further investigation revealed that Singh was also an illegal foreigner, who was living here despite his visitor visa period since 2016.
