A woman was allegedly raped by four people in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha. The police gave this information on Thursday. This is the third such incident in the state in three days.
According to the complaint lodged by the husband of the victim (31), four people acquaintances of her family entered her house located in the Baripada Sadar police station area when she and other family members were not there.
According to the complaint, the four people forcibly took his wife under the jurisdiction of another police station where they gang -raped her. Inspector Aditya Prasad Jena, in -charge of Baripada Sadar police station, said that the victim has given the names of the four people and they are absconding.
Jena said, “A team has been formed to search for the accused.” He said that the criminals threatened the woman that if she told anyone about this, they would kill her.
The woman has been admitted to a government hospital and her condition is said to be stable. The incident took place on Monday. Earlier on Sunday, a college student was allegedly gang -raped on Gopalpur Beach and the police arrested 10 accused including four minors in the case.
A 17 -year -old teenager was allegedly gang -raped, murdered and later hanged from a tree in Keonjhar district.
