Expressing his views about former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, social activist Anna Hazare said that the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was doing “good work” as the Chief Minister, but he started opening liquor shops. He was given and as a result he faced anger of the people. When Rekha Gupta became the new Chief Minister of Delhi, Hazare said that it is a matter of pride for the national capital that a woman is sitting in a top chair.

He told the media persons that people voted for Gupta for their “pure ideas and actions”. The 80 -year -old activist said that as the Chief Minister, Kejriwal should have set an example to the society, but he wandered. The anti -corruption movement is credited with the birth of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Referring to the AAP government’s controversial excise policy, Hazare told reporters, “The earlier Chief Minister (Kejriwal) was doing a good job and became the Chief Minister of Delhi three times. I did not say anything against him because he was doing good work. But then, he slowly started opening liquor shops and issued a license. “
Kejriwal was once a colleague of Hazare in the anti -corruption movement. Hazare, especially, is known to the staunch opponents of consumption or sales of alcohol. Kejriwal was once a partner of Hazare in the anti -corruption movement, but the two separated after Kejriwal formed AAP in 2012. In the elections held earlier this month, the BJP dropped AAP from power in Delhi, and Kejriwal lost his seat.

The Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate alleged that irregularities were made when amending the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 and licensed holders were given unfair advantage. The policy was later canceled.
