After being promoted to the highest military post in Pakistan, a special guard of honor ceremony was held at Rawalpindi for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at Rawalpindi at Rawalpindi. Munir paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and laid a wreath at the memorial and presented Fateha. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), he dedicated this honor to the people of Pakistan, armed forces and especially to the martyrs and veterans of military, civil institutions and law enforcement agencies.

In a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the federal government officially promoted General Asim Munir to the post of Field Marshal. The decision has been taken during Operation Banyan-Um-Mursos, recognizing his strategic leadership and bravery, which thwarted India’s recent attack and protected Pakistan’s national security.
