Atishi said that Delhi’s Water Minister Pravesh Verma should resign because he does not even know that the water of Delhi comes only from 2 rivers – Yamuna and Ganga – both do not come from Punjab. Therefore, Punjab Delhi cannot stop the water. He further said that Delhi is getting the entire water of Ganga from ‘Upper Ganga Canal’ and Yamuna from ‘Munak Canal’. Water is not coming down. If the people of Delhi are short of water, then they are due to the BJP’s union. Anyway – the minister who does not even know which river Delhi gets water, what will he be able to manage that water?
The BJP -led government in Delhi claims that the city has been steadily decreasing the water supply from Haryana for the last one week. Delhi Public Works Minister Pravesh Verma has blamed AAP and the Punjab government for this crisis and alleged that the lack of water is a politics -motivated step to avenge the party’s recent defeat in the Delhi assembly elections.
