Attempt to derail train near Rae Bareli failed, investigation begins

The attempt to derail the train by placing a stone on the track near the Champa Devi temple near the railway station in Rae Bareli failed because in time, the loco pilot saw it (stone) and put an emergency brake.

Railway officials gave this information. According to railway officials, information about the case was given to Kotwali Police and Government Railway Police (GRP). The Kotwali police has also been given Tahrir by Senior Khandi Engineer (Senior Section Engineer).

According to officials, someone placed a stone on the track of the railway bridge near the Champa Devi temple, some distance away from the station. There is a standard difference of 450 mm between ‘Guard Railings’ and ‘Running Railings’ on the railway bridge, where stones were placed on Saturday night.

When the Yashwantpur Express coming from Lucknow on Saturday night reached close, the speed of the train was slow due to the signal being red. On this, the loco pilot of Yashwantpur Express saw stones on the railway track.

Loco Pilot stopped the train by applying emergency brake and removed the stone, after which the train proceeded. The loco pilot reported this to the control room. After this, Senior Block Engineer (Bachhrawan) informed the RPF and Nagar Kotwali police.

According to officials, railway officers, RPF and civil police officers reached the spot at night, investigated. After investigation, late night, senior Khandi Engineer of the railway gave a complaint to the city Kotwali police in connection with the incident.

Senior Khandi Engineer Shubham Srivastava said that on receiving information about the stone, he reached the spot and was also informed to RPF and Civil Police.

According to Srivastava, RPF and police officers have also investigated. The stone was about one feet, besides many other small stones were kept. Senior Khandi Engineer said that the case is being investigated.
