There may be a delay of three months in the completion of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Actually, earlier it was to be completed by June 2025 but now it is likely to be completed by September 2025. Construction committee chairman Nripendra Mishra said that currently, we are facing shortage of workers, due to which the construction is getting delayed. The temple is short of around 200 workers and the committee is also planning to replace some stones on the first floor of the temple.
Mishra said some of the stones on the first floor appeared weak and thin and said replacing them with new stones would ensure the stability of the structure. About 8.5 lakh cubic feet of red ‘Bansi Paharpur’ stones have been delivered for the construction of the boundary wall of the temple. Its construction is being delayed due to lack of sufficient workers. In a recent meeting, the committee also reviewed the status of construction of other structures including the auditorium, border and parikrama path.
The temple is also awaiting idols from production centers in Jaipur, including those for Lord Ram’s court and six nearby temples. These idols are expected to reach Ayodhya by December. There are also preparations to install two statues of Ram Lalla, already approved by the temple trust, at prominent places. Mishra said that the sculptor has assured us that all the sculptures will be completed by the end of the year. He said that a final decision would be taken regarding their installation in the temple premises.
