Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal on Thursday revealed the reason for excluding Babar Azam before the start of Pakistan Super League 2023. He told that Babar Azam did not agree with his batting position, due to which he was released by the team. The owner of Karachi Kings said that he had requested Babar Azam to bat at number three with Mickey Arthur but refused.
Iqbal told ARY News that, Mickey Arthur and I had requested Babar Azam to bat at number 3 for Karachi Kings. But he was not comfortable to do so and so we had to release him. The management decided to change the entire squad. For this reason we let Babar Azam, Imad Wasim and Mohammad Aamir go.
Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam was a part of the King’s team from 2017 to 2022. After playing 90 PSL matches, Babar Azam started the innings in 76 innings. During this time he has scored 3103 runs. He has scored 28 half -centuries and two centuries.
