The body of a woman locked in a suitcase has been found in a house near Hulimavu, causing sensation throughout Bengaluru. Gauri Anil Sabekar (32) was allegedly murdered by her husband Rakesh, who hails from Maharashtra. Sources said that the accused has been arrested from Pune. The report said that Rakesh Sabekar had approached Gauri’s parents and confessed to the phone call. The accused has been identified as Rakesh of Maharashtra, which was tracked through a call detail record (CDR) and was taken into custody by the Satara police.

Police said that in Pargaon Khandala of Satara, local people found Rakesh in a state of unconsciousness inside the car. Police said that Rakesh ate some substance like poison and was immediately admitted to the hospital. He is currently undergoing treatment. The crime came to light when Rakesh allegedly called his wife’s parents and confessed to the murder. The victim, 32 -year -old Gauri Anil Sabekar, had a background in mass media and communication. She was unemployed and lived at home, while Rakesh worked as a project manager in Hitachi. Originally from Maharashtra, the couple had been living in Dodakannahalli under the boundary of Hulimavu police station for the last two months.

According to police sources, there was frequent debate between Rakesh and Gauri and there were reports that he had a physical attack on Rakesh during the quarrel. On 26 March, a sharp debate caught up so much that Rakesh stabbed Gauri’s stomach and cut her throat. Then he filled his body in a suitcase and left it in the bathroom and then fled to Pune. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Sarah Fatima revealed that the police had initially reported a suspect hanging case at around 5:30 pm. He said, “When our Hulimavu Police Inspector reached home, he was closed. After entering, he found a suitcase in the bathroom. Then we realized that it was a crime. The FSL team opened the suitcase and found a woman’s body, which had bruises.
The officials attempted to locate Rakesh, but he was missing. Investigators tracked her place through CDR and informed the Pune Police, who arrested him. A team of Hulimavu police has gone to Pune to bring him back to Bangalore for further investigation.
DCP Fatima said, “Body pieces were not done, it was completely safe. The correct nature of injuries would be confirmed after the post -mortem report.” The investigation of the case is going on, as the police is trying to gather further information and find out the entire motive behind the crime.
