Speaking to reporters, Baghel said that the ED has no enforcement case information report (ECIR) number. When we asked for this, they had no answer. Seven years ago, a serious allegation was made against me. Nothing was found in that case because the Supreme Court acquitted me. They will not get anything in this matter too. Baghel further alleged that he was neither allowed to go to the Chhattisgarh Assembly nor was it allowed to use the phone.
Baghel claimed that he did not let me go to the assembly today. They also stopped me from talking on the phone. My daughter, my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren live here. We mainly earn by farming on 140 acres of land. Earlier today, the Central Investigation Agency raided 14 places in Durg district of Chhattisgarh in connection with the alleged liquor scam, including the residence of Bhupesh Baghel and his son Chaitanya.

Congress organization general secretary KC Venugopal claimed in a post on ‘X’ that the raid is part of the government’s strategy diverting attention to avoid replies on major issues in Parliament. He said, “These are the strategies diverting attention.” Whenever the Parliament session is going on, the burning issues of the people should be discussed, but they want to run away from these issues … The government does not want to discuss public -centric issues. Therefore, whenever the Parliament session is going on, they adopt these focus strategies. Let them do so. ”
