The Patoti Trophy being played between India and England for a long time came to an end. This is a Test series, which has been done in honor of great cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. But now the England and Wales Cricket Board has decided to retire the trophy. The Pataudi Trophy series was first played in 2007, defeating England 1–0. When the Indian team visits England in the month of June-July, the Pataudi Trophy can be officially eliminated.
However, the reason for abolishing the Pataudi Trophy has not been revealed. But the introduction of a new trophy in the name of any other great cricketer will also not be a shocking subject. According to a report by Cricbuzz, no England Cricket Board official has confirmed the subject. Trophy is usually retired in cricket on very few occasions, but before that the Visden Trophy played between England and West Indies was also retired. The Richards Botham Trophy was later started.
Let me tell you that Mansoor Ali Khan was the former captain of the Indian cricket team. He represented the Indian team in 46 Test matches between 1961–1975. During this time he scored 2,793 runs in his career, along with 6 centuries and 16 fifty in his career.
