Spain has announced the situation of Emergency, which is being called Europe’s biggest power failure. Due to power failure, lights and plug points were closed and the metro system suddenly caused a malfunction. Traffic came to a standstill due to stopping the signal working in Madrid. Officials are still trying to find out what was the reason for the sudden demolition of the power grid.

Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez addressed the nation and said that even after about 11 hours after everything came to a standstill in the nation, government experts are still trying to find out what happened. He said that Spain’s power grid lost 15 GW of electricity in just five seconds, which is equivalent to 60 percent of its national demand. Spain’s power distributor ‘Red Electra’ operating head Eduardo Prito said that such an incident was extraordinary and unprecedented.

Spanish officials have said that cyber attacks cannot be denied behind the blackout till now. It is being thoroughly investigated. Even before this, there have been big blackouts from small technical disturbances in Europe. In 2003, the entire Italy was immersed in darkness after cutting the power line from a tree in Switzerland. Therefore, this time also, both technical problem or cyber attack is being investigated keeping in mind the possibilities.
