During the hearing of Ranya Rao’s bail plea, advocate Madhu Rao, who represents DRI, said that officials have issued notice under Section 108 to start a judicial inquiry against the actor.

The purpose of the investigation is to detect the limit of financial irregularities and any possible violations of the law. Ranya Rao’s bail plea has been dismissed twice so far, once the lower court and the second time by the special court for economic crimes. The debate has been completed in the latest hearing of the bail plea and the court has reserved its order till 27 March. On March 3, the 31 -year -old actress was arrested at the Keme Gowda International Airport in Bengaluru, where officials seized gold biscuits worth Rs 12.56 crore from the actress. After that, in the search of his house, gold jewelery worth Rs 2.06 crore and Indian currency worth Rs 2.67 crore was allegedly seized.

The DRI’s major claim of Ranya Rao’s confession in the gold smuggling case came at a time when he alleged that he had evidence of actress and her friend Tarun Raju’s 26 trips to Dubai, in which he used to go out in the morning and return by evening.
