Tokyo Olympic bronze medalist Lavalina Borgohen won the gold medal in the women’s 75kg event at the 38th National Games, while six -time Asian Champion Shiv Thapa won a silver medal in the men’s 63.5 kg category. Assam’s Lovelina, playing her first tournament after the Paris Olympics, registered a unilateral 5–0 win over the young rival Pranshu Rathore of Chandigarh in the three rounds. Thapa faced disappointment in the final of men’s light welterweight (63.5 kg) category.
