brij bhushan sharan singh again lashed out at vinesh phogat and bajran punia

YEARS

Brij Bhushan further said that the rule is that a player cannot give trials in two weight categories on the same day. They snatched the rights of junior wrestlers by giving wrong trials. They hijacked the entire system.

Former Wrestling Federation of India president and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh on Saturday termed Congress leaders and wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajran Punia as “villains”. On September 6, about a month before the Haryana assembly elections, both the veteran wrestlers joined the Congress. Brij Bhushan said that he is the villain of Haryana. Especially of the sportspersons. He said who is Bajrang Punia to talk to me? He used his wife for political gains. Vinesh Phogat broke the rules by participating in a trial.

Brij Bhushan further said that the rule is that a player cannot give trials in two weight categories on the same day. They snatched the rights of junior wrestlers by giving wrong trials. They hijacked the entire system. The same weight that he hid here became his downfall there (in Paris Olympics). He further said that if both the wrestlers step aside, India will win at least five medals in wrestling in the next Olympics. Along with this, he said that if these people had not protested, we would have won five medals in wrestling. Let them step aside, and I declare that we will bring five medals in the next Olympics.

Brij Bhushan said that today, if women athletes cannot walk with their heads held high, it is because of Bajrang, Vinesh, Bhupender Hooda and the Congress party. Punia won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics, while Vinesh Phogat became the first female wrestler to reach an Olympic final in Paris last month. The wrestlers had earlier on Friday also resigned from their respective posts in Northern Railways. Within hours of their joining the party, wrestler Vinesh Phogat was fielded from Julana constituency for the upcoming Haryana elections. At the same time, Bajrang Punia was appointed the working president of the All India Kisan Congress. Voting for the 90-member assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5 and the last date for filing nominations is September 12. The counting of votes will take place on October 8.
