After her re-election as the President of BSP, the speculations about her retirement from politics also came to an end. When Mayawati was re-elected as the National President in the National Executive meeting in Lucknow, there was a great enthusiasm among the BSP workers. Maya has once again been unanimously elected as the National President of BSP for five years. The National General Secretary of the party Satish Chandra Mishra had proposed to make Mayawati the National President, this also proves that Satish has not been side-lined in BSP.

BSP has announced to contest elections on all 10 seats. In which Chandrashekhar Azad’s close leader Pradhan Shah from Meerapur and Ramgopal Kori from Milkipur assembly seat have been declared BSP candidates. Azad Party President and MP Chandrashekhar Ravan will be a different challenge for Maya, who is eyeing the Dalit voters of BSP.

Mayawati has been continuously elected as the national president of the party since September 18, 2003. A day before, on Monday, she denied the news of her retirement and made it clear that she will continue as the national president. In such a situation, her election as president once again in the executive meeting on Tuesday was certain. A meeting of the national executive was called at the BSP office in Lucknow. In this, preparations for the assembly elections to be held in Jammu-Kashmir, Haryana and Maharashtra were discussed as well as the strategy for the by-elections to be held on 10 seats in the state.
