Sukma. Four naxalites, carrying a total reward of Rs 20 lakh on their heads, surrendered before security forces in Chhattisgarh's Naxal-affected Sukma district. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. Officials said that two women naxalite were also among the surrendered naxalites. Police officials said that four naxalites including two women, active in Gadchiroli division, Maad division and South Bastar division – Kailash alias Kawasi Deva (35), Vanjam Hadma alias Sunil (24), Sukki Madkam (31) and Ravva Deve (25) surrendered before security forces.
He said that Kailash was the deputy commander of platoon A of company number 10 of the Naxalites. There is a reward of eight lakh rupees on him. There is a reward of five lakh rupees each on Vanjam Hadma and Sukki Madkam and two lakh rupees on Ravva Deve's head. Police officials said that the Naxalites have decided to surrender after being influenced by the Chhattisgarh government's Niyad Nella Nar (Your Good Village) scheme and being fed up with discrimination by outside Naxalites.
He said that the surrendered Naxalites were accused of being involved in many Naxal incidents including attack on police team. Officials said that the Naxalites surrendered without weapons. All the surrendered Naxalites have been given clothes and incentive amount of Rs. 25,000 each. He said that they will be provided financial assistance and other facilities under 'Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy'.
