CM Naidu compared Jagan Reddy to drug mafia Pablo Escobar, narrated the story of the drug lord in the assembly

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday launched a series of scathing attacks against his predecessor Jagan Mohan Reddy and compared him to Colombian drug mafia Pablo Escobar. Releasing a white paper in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, Naidu criticised the YSR Congress Party’s tenure under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and claimed it was marked by anarchy and the state had become the ganja capital, a problem the then CM never addressed.

In his attacks against the former chief minister, Naidu primarily blamed YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state during his tenure. He compared the YSRC chief to Pablo Escobar, saying, “I am the most senior politician in the country and I have never seen a situation like the one in Andhra when Jagan was in power. There was only one person who can be compared to what happened in Andhra, drug mafia Pablo Escobar.”

He further said that Pablo Escobar is a Colombian drug mafia, a narco-terrorist. He became a politician and then he started his own cartel to sell drugs. He had earned $30 billion at that time, which is now worth $90 billion. He was arrested in 1976 and in 1980 he became the world’s number one richest drug mafia. Naidu alleged that one can become rich even by selling drugs. What was the former chief minister’s (Jagan’s) aim? Tata, Reliance, Ambani have money and he wants to become richer than them. Some have needs, some have greed, and some have mania, and these maniacs do these kinds of things.

While presenting the white paper, CM Naidu also targeted the former CM for turning Andhra Pradesh into the “ganja capital” during his tenure. Now ganja is easily available in every village of Andhra Pradesh, Naidu asked. Has the former CM paid attention to this issue even once during his tenure? He appealed to the youth not to destroy their families and stressed the commitment of the present government to control and nip this issue in the bud.
