In Majitha area of Amritsar, Punjab, 17 people died after drinking poisonous liquor, while three others are in critical condition. Special DGP Arpit Shukla said that the death toll due to drinking poisonous liquor in Amritsar has increased to 17. Three people are serious. A DSP and SHO have been suspended. SSP Maninder Singh of Amritsar (Rural) has confirmed the deaths. SSP Amritsar Maninder Singh said, “We received information at around 9.30 pm last night that people were dying of drinking fake liquor. We immediately took action and detained four people. We have arrested Chief Suppliers Prabhjeet Singh.”
