In Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, three unidentified people killed Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gulfam Singh Yadav on Monday afternoon. The BJP leader, who was also the former regional vice president of the party’s western Uttar Pradesh unit, died on the way to the hospital. According to the circle officer Deepak Tiwari of Gunnore, Gulfam Singh Yadav was sitting on his farm in the village of office under Juanavai police station, when three people came on a bike and gave him a drug.

How was Gulfam Singh Yadav killed?
Police said that on Monday afternoon, when Gulfam Singh Yadav was sitting in his courtyard, three people came to meet him on a bike. They greeted each other, sat near Yadav and asked for their well-being. He also asked for water and drank, after which Yadav lay down. Then one of them allegedly injected poisonous substance in Yadav’s stomach and ran away. After this, Yadav’s health started deteriorating and he shouted with pain, which caught the attention of his family and the people around. Yadav’s son informed the police and took him to the local health center, from where he was referred to Aligarh Medical College. However, Yadav died on the way.

Circle officer Deepak Tiwari said that no formal complaint has been filed on behalf of Yadav’s family. He said, “Yadav was being taken to Aligarh for treatment, but he died on the way. So far no formal complaint has been received from the victim’s family. A police team has been deployed to investigate the case.
