The Supreme Court has launched an online mediation training web portal developed by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) in collaboration with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the apex court.

Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and NALSA Executive Chairman Justice Sanjiv Khanna launched the portal on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, Chandrachud said the training programme will help make mediation the first and default mode of dispute resolution by training lawyers, judges, law students, etc. in the mode of mediation.

Developed in five months, the initiative offers a comprehensive online training module. “The online mediation training web portal combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, comprising over 50 lectures on 20 topics related to mediation and over 10 hours of ‘online/interactive practical’ sessions,” a release said.
