KL Rahul and Triston Stabs came to Delhi in the super over and Stubs won Delhi by hitting a six. With this victory, the Delhi team has gone to the top in the points table, with five points in five of 6 matches, it has 10 points.
Earlier, chasing a target of 189 runs in Delhi, Royals’ team could score 188 runs for four wickets despite the half -century of Nitish Rana (51 runs, 28 balls, six fours, two sixes) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 runs, 37 balls, four sixes, three fours). The Royals team was in a very strong position by scoring 112 runs for one wicket in the 14th over at one time but the Delhi team managed to return from the bowlers’ excellent performance from Stark (one wicket for 36 runs). Delhi scored 188 runs for five wickets.
Opener Abhishek Porel scored the most 49 runs for the host team. He shared a 63 -run partnership for the third wicket with Lokesh Rahul (38). Royals, chasing the target, were given a great start by adding 63 runs without losing wickets in power play by Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson (31). Jaiswal also hit two fours and a six off Mitchell Starc’s consecutive balls after hitting a six on Mukesh Kumar. Samson welcomed the Vipraj Nigam with fours and sixes in consecutive balls after two sixes on Mukesh. Samson was also lucky in the meantime when Ashutosh Sharma dripped his easy catch off Mohit Sharma. Samson, however, had to return to retired hurt due to injury after this.
Akshar bowled Ryan Parag (08) to take his first wicket of the current season in the fifth match. Jaiswal welcomed Kuldeep Yadav and Triston Stabs with sixes. However, he was lucky to score 45 runs when Mohit failed to catch his catch at the boundary by Kuldeep. Nitish Rana completed a century of the team’s runs in the 12th over with one run off Mohit’s ball, while in the same over, Jaiswal also scored a half -century in 34 balls with one run.
However, the pressure to increase the run pace was increasing and in this effort, Jaiswal caught Stark on Long Off in an attempt to play a big shot off Kuldeep. Royals needed 73 runs to win in the last six overs. Nitish played Akshar’s ball in the air on the long time but the Stubs failed to catch the catch and the ball went for six runs. He also hit two fours in this over. Nitish hit Kuldeep’s consecutive balls and a four in the next over. Dhruv Jurlel (26) completed the team’s 150 runs in the 18th over with a six on Mohit while Nitish completed a half -century in 26 balls with the Chowk in the same over.
Royals needed 31 runs to win in the last three overs. Stark tried to make Delhi a comeback by pushing Nitish. Only eight runs were scored in the over. Jurael scored 14 runs with a six on Mohit in the next over. Royals needed nine runs in Stark’s final over but scored only eight runs, leading the match to the super over. Earlier, Samson won the toss and decided to bowl first, after which Delhi did not start well. Jack Fraser McGark (09) started with two consecutive fours on Jofra Archer, but in the next over of the same fast bowler, the ball was waved in the air and gave an easy catch to Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Karun Nair, who scored a half -century in the last match against Mumbai Indians, was run out without opening an account. Porel targeted Tushar Deshpande in the second over and scored 23 runs in his over with four fours and a six. Delhi scored 46 runs for two wickets in power play. Rahul, who is in good form, completed the half -century of the team’s runs in the seventh over with a six on Deshpande. After the ball was a little old, the batsmen had some difficulty in scoring runs, causing the bowlers in the middle to curb the run pace. Rahul completed a half -century partnership with Porel with a six on Long Off on Tishta.
The pressure to increase the run speed was visible on the batsmen and in an attempt to play a big shot off Archer’s ball, Rahul caught Shimron Hetmyer on Deep Midwick. He hit two sixes and the same fours in his 32 -ball innings. Porel was lucky to Archer’s bouncer when the ball reached the hands of wicketkeeper Samson with the edge of his bat but no one appealed. Stabs took the team’s score to 100 runs in the 14th over with a six on Hasranga but Porel was caught by Ryan Parag on the long off in the same over. Porel hit five fours and a six in his 37 -ball innings.
Akshar increased the run speed with two fours and a six off Hasranga’s consecutive balls. Stabs remained lucky in this over when Parag dripped his catch on the long off. In the next over, Akshar also hit a six and two fours on the Texta but caught Dhruv Jurlel at the long off off the same spinner. Stabs hit two fours on Archer in the 19th over while Ashutosh Sharma (15 not out) also saw the ball to see the boundary.
