Delhi court ordered
The matter was listed in court on Wednesday to present Patkar’s presence, probation bonds and to deposit the fine amount. Saxena’s lawyer Gajinder Kumar said that Patkar neither appeared nor followed the court’s instructions. He said, “In today’s case, NBW (non -bailable warrant) has been issued against Patkar through the Delhi Police Commissioner, and the court has found that the plea requesting the convict to stay adjournted is mischievous and petty.” The lawyer said, “If the convict does not follow the order till the next date (May 3), the court will consider the change in the sentence of April 8.”
Waiting for detailed order. Saxena had filed a case against Patkar for his defamatory press release on 24 November 2000 as the chairman of the National Council of Civil Liberties. On May 24 last year, the magistrate court said that Patkar in his statement called Saxena a ‘coward’ and accused him of his involvement in hawala transactions, who were not only defamable, but were coined to incite negative perception about him.
