Delhi Fog Update| Dense fog in Delhi, advisory issued at airport, 18 trains delayed

Many parts of Delhi are under the grip of dense fog. Due to dense fog, low visibility procedures had to be implemented at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. However, there is not much fog right now, due to which flights are flying on schedule. The Indian Meteorological Department on Thursday reported the minimum temperature in Delhi to be 7 degrees Celsius, and also predicted dense fog.

The overall air quality index in Delhi remained in the ‘very poor’ category. The Meteorological Department has predicted that there is a possibility of dense fog in Delhi during late night and morning hours on 26 and 28 December. It is also predicted to be partly cloudy and very light rain in the evening or night. The surface wind speed in the morning is likely to be less than 4 km/hr, which is likely to come from the north-east direction. Mist and moderate fog is likely to prevail over most areas, while dense fog is likely at some places during the morning hours.
