Vasudev Ghat is situated between the Yamuna Ghat and Nigam Bodh Ghat on the west bank of the Yamuna River, which is in the Kashmiri Gate. This is the first ghat which is built by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). It was inaugurated in March 2024 by VK Saxena, Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi.
Yamuna Aarti has been performed at Vasudev Ghat in Yamuna. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta joined the Aarti with her cabinet ministers. Vasudev Ghat is situated between the Yamuna Ghat and Nigam Bodh Ghat on the west bank of the Yamuna River, which is in the Kashmiri Gate. Earlier, it was inaccessible due to the accumulation of 1.5 feet deep silt and a steep slope that was filled with garbage.
After taking oath, Gupta reached the Delhi Secretariat and took charge as the Chief Minister of Delhi. He was accompanied by state BJP in -charge Baijayant Panda and state president Virendra Sachdeva and party leaders were also present. After taking charge, Gupta told reporters that his government would not waste a single day to realize the “mission” of “developed Delhi”. He said, “We will fulfill all the commitments made to the people of Delhi.”
Rekha Gupta has been elected MLA from Shalimar Bagh in the Delhi assembly elections held in Li. There are many challenges before the BJP government led by Gupta. They have to fulfill the major election promises, continue the welfare schemes of the previous government and resolve the city’s pollution and infrastructure issues. He has to do all this while monitoring the financial situation of the national capital. Another major challenge for the BJP will be to continue the welfare schemes launched by the AAP government, including free electricity up to 200 units and free bus travel for women.
