Latur made a significant change in the field of education by organizing the Marathwada Educational Conclave in January 2025. The event was led by Dheeraj Deshmukh ji, Chairman, Latur District Bank and in collaboration with STEAM Education Centre. This event gave a new twist to the “Latur Pattern” and will now be known as “Latur Pattern 2.0”. This new pattern is a big leap towards making education more skill-based and modern. The three-day long conclave had more than 100 stalls and featured sessions by experts on employment, skill development, and the use of new educational tools like AI. One stall that caught everyone’s attention at the event was the Reed Latour Initiative. Beyond the world of AI, this initiative has promoted the habit of reading among children in rural areas of Maharashtra.

Current Minister Babasaheb Patil praised the vision and leadership of Shri Dheeraj Deshmukh and said, “If we have to create a moral and intelligent generation, it is necessary to give children proper access to books. Speaking at the event, Mr. Dheeraj Deshmukh said, “Latur has always been the center of innovation and change, be it education or any other field. Talking about the education journey of Latur, he said, “For more than three decades, the ‘Latur Pattern’ has set an excellent example in studies and exams. Education is actually the foundation of progress, and this needs to change. Dheeraj Deshmukh, like his father and former Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh ji, has always been doing new things to take Latur forward. Be it his Rural T10 tournament promoting rural cricket, the Read Latur Initiative to motivate children to study, or the recent Marathwada Conclave – Dheeraj ji is always working for the progress of Latur.
