Officials have deployed heavy police forces in fear of resistance and have installed barricades. More than 200 illegal slums are to be demolished today under the ongoing anti -encroachment campaign. This action is being taken under the order of the court and the officials emphasize that similar campaigns have been conducted here earlier.
It is noteworthy that permanent DDA flats were given to the displaced residents in the action of previously demolished. Today’s campaign is being run amidst strict security so that laws and order remains during the evacuation. On the other hand, politics has intensified regarding the whole matter. The Aam Aadmi Party is targeting the Delhi government. AAP chief Saurabh Bhardwaj of Delhi said that former MLA Akhilesh husband Tripathi was taken into police custody for opposing the BJP government’s bulldozer. The BJP government is continuously running bulldozers on the homes of the poor.
After this, AAP chief and former Delhi CM Kejriwal has targeted the BJP. Kejriwal wrote on X that what does BJP want? Does all the slums of Delhi want to break? Then what did Modi ji lie at the time of elections – where the slum, the house there? A senior police officer said, “Two semi -regional companies are present on the spot with Delhi Police personnel to ensure that the law and order situation does not break.” This is the second demolition campaign in the area this month. After the demolition campaign on June 2, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “If a railway line is encroached and an accident happens then who will be responsible?” In the last few weeks, similar campaigns have been conducted in landless camps and Madrasi camps in south-east Delhi.
