Digvijay targeted Madhya Pradesh BJP chief Sharma, war of words broke out

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Saturday attacked Madhya Pradesh BJP chief V.D. Sharma for his “impotence”, to which Sharma hit back at Singh for his “unacceptable” behaviour.

Singh made these remarks against Sharma during a press conference when a journalist sought his reaction saying Sharma had claimed that ‘he (Singh) is a supporter of terrorists.’

The Congress leader responded, “Despite having a ‘triple engine’ government at the Centre, state and municipal and local bodies level, if he (Sharma) calls me an accomplice of terrorists but still does not take any action against me, I am disappointed by his ‘impotence’.”

Sharma hit back, saying Singh not only supports terrorists but is also trying to deprive the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of their rights through the politics of appeasement.

Terming Singh’s remarks as “unacceptable”, Sharma said in a press release, “I challenge your manliness over your appeasement efforts. I will not use such shallow and cheap words.” Sharma, who represents the Khajuraho Lok Sabha seat, alleged that the Congress and Digvijaya Singh are still involved in the politics of appeasement.

Sharma said, “When the BJP and I oppose this move, he loses his temper. I want to make it clear to Digvijaya Singh that the BJP will not allow him to snatch away the rights of Dalits and Adivasis for the sake of appeasement politics.”
