Do not forget to go to the border of India … Why did China warning its citizens?

The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has issued a new warning to its citizens to avoid traveling near the Indo-Nepal border, as India has taken action against those who cross the border illegally in the last few months. In a statement released on Friday, the embassy said that despite repeated warnings, some Chinese passengers continue to enter the border area, due to which they are detained on charges of illegal entry into Indian territory. In the statement, the embassy said that the citizens of Nepal and India are free to cross the border between the two countries with documents, but the same rule does not apply to foreign nationals. According to the Global Times report, the embassy insisted that foreigners cannot travel to India via Nepal without a visa.

The embassy mentioned the stringent punishment for illegal entry into India and highlighted that inadvertently entering Indian territory could be arrested or prosecuted, in which people may have two to eight years of jail or fine, and there is no possibility of bail. The development came to light on Thursday (May 29) after two Chinese citizens from Bihar were arrested for making videos on the Indo-Nepal border and taking selfies. Police said both did not have valid travel documents. Earlier this month, four Chinese citizens who tried to enter the Indian territory from Raxaul in Bihar through the Nepali border were detained. The four did not have any legal documents required to enter India.

Meanwhile, India and Nepal conducted joint search operations and patrols along the international border last week, when New Delhi received intelligence about the presence of suspected terrorists from Pakistan in the Himalayan nation. Since the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April, India is very cautious in its border areas, in which 26 people were shot by Pakistan-backed militants. In retaliation, India started Operation Sindoor on 7 May, in which it attacked nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan run by Pakistan.
