The Indian Embassy in Thailand has released an emergency helpline number for Indian citizens, as a 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Thailand and neighboring Myanmar on Friday afternoon, killing at least three people in Bangkok. Following the shaking of powerful earthquake in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand, the embassy is closely monitoring the situation in coordination with Thai officials. Nearly dozens of people have been trapped due to the collapse of a tall building under construction, due to which Myanmar has declared a broad emergency. Myanmar’s military-operated government has announced an emergency in six regions and states including the capital Nepeita and Mandalay, but due to the long-running bloody civil war in the country, it is not clear how help will reach many areas. The Red Cross said that the power lines have fallen to the challenges for Mandalay and Sagaiing regions and their teams trying to reach the southern glory state.
