ED raids Bhupesh Baghel’s son’s house, action in Chhattisgarh liquor scam case

The son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel has suffered. On Monday morning, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the house of the son of the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. These raids have been conducted in connection with the alleged liquor scam related to the money laundering case in the state. The Enforcement Directorate is conducting raids at 14 places in Chhattisgarh in the money laundering case.
 
The searches of Chaitanya Baghel in Bhilai and some other persons in the state are being searched under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Prevention Act (PMLA). News agency PTI told that Chaitanya Baghel of his fatherAlong with this, we share housing in Bhilai and therefore the complexes are being searched.
 
Unknown sources told PTI that some “relations” between Chaitanya Baghel and the liquor syndicate have emerged and some others are being investigated. Reacting to the raid, Bhupesh Baghel’s office said, “If someone is trying to stop the Congress in Punjab through this conspiracy, it is a misunderstanding.”
 
The statement posted on X said, “When the false case going on for seven years was dismissed in court, this morning, the guests of ED entered the Bhilai residence of former CM and Congress General Secretary Bhupesh Baghel.”
 
The ED had earlier said that the state treasury suffered heavy losses due to Chhattisgarh liquor scam and more than Rs 2,100 crore was filled in the pockets of the beneficiaries of the liquor syndicate. The ED arrested Anwar Dhebar, the elder brother of Raipur and Congress leader Ejaz Dhebar, Anwar Dhebar, former IAS officer Anil Tuteja, Telecom Service (ITS) officer Arunapathi Tripathi and some others under their investigation.
 
According to the Central Investigation Agency, the alleged liquor scam in Chhattisgarh took place between 2019 and 2022, when the Congress government led by Bhupesh Baghel was ruling in the state. The ED has so far seized assets worth about ₹ 205 crore of various accused under its investigation.
