Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy called upon all state-run universities to adopt student-centric views, emphasizing the need to start market-operated and advanced courses, while old or irrelevant courses should be abolished. The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the Vice Chancellors of all state universities at the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) in Hyderabad, where he underlined the immediate need for institutional reforms to ensure that the economically weaker background students also get quality, prepared education for future. Highlighting that private universities are rapidly attracting students from affluent families by presenting industry-related programs.

The Chief Minister criticized the continuous offer of traditional, low -demand courses, which he said that he is often maintained only because appointments for those subjects were made long ago. He recommended that professors associated with such obsolete courses should be given administrative responsibilities, as well as warned that state universities should not become unnecessary educational programs or “rehabilitation centers” for employees.
