The CBI told the judge that it is ready to debate in the corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Now the CBI is investigating the corruption case related to the canceled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, while ED is investigating a money laundering case.

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accused in the Delhi Excise Policy case, on Thursday moved the court demanding a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for renewal of his passport. Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and sought a response to the next date of hearing till 4 June. Kejriwal’s lawyer told the court that his passport had ended in 2018 and he has applied for 10 years demanding its renewal.

Meanwhile, the CBI told the judge that it was ready to debate in the corruption case related to the alleged excise policy scam. Now the CBI is investigating the corruption case related to the canceled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, while ED is investigating a money laundering case. The money laundering case arises from the CBI FIR, which was registered by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena after recommending an inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the implementation of the policy.

According to the CBI and ED, irregularities were made while amending the excise policy and the license holders were given unfair advantage. The Delhi government implemented the policy on 17 November 2021 and ended it by the end of September 2022 amid allegations of corruption.
