Four people, including three minor brothers, were seriously injured due to an explosion in a CNG cylinder in a warehouse on Saturday afternoon in the beautiful city area of North-East Delhi. An official gave this information.
He said that the explosion occurred in a storage and repair unit at around 4.30 pm, where the cylinder was allegedly exploded during the repair work. An official of the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said that the injured were identified as three brothers Saqib (7), Abbas (9) and Raja (3), besides Arshad (22). The three children are the son of a person named Afsar.
He said that Saqib has scorched 90 percent, Abbas and Raja 85 percent and Arshad 70 percent. The official said that Arshad was working inside the warehouse at the time of the incident.
On receiving information about the blast, two fire engines were sent on the spot. He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that CNG cylinders were being kept and repaired in a shop on the ground floor of the four -storey residential building.
A cylinder allegedly exploded during the repair work, causing a loud explosion. Police said that the explosion was so strong that the iron gate of the warehouse broke and its debris fell on three children playing nearby.
Police said the injured were immediately rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be critical, but stable. Police said that legal action has been initiated against the owner of the warehouse.
