In Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh, police on Friday registered an FIR against a woman born in Pakistan, who has been living for more than six decades. Police said that the accused woman had made documents like Aadhaar card, voter ID card and ration card without Indian citizenship.
Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Manush Pareek said that an operation search campaign is being conducted to identify foreign nationals, in which Bangladeshi, Rohingya and Pakistani citizens are being investigated illegally.
He said that during the investigation on Thursday, Farhat Sultana was found in Sufi Tola in Baradari area which was born in Pakistan and has no evidence of Indianness. Despite this, he got Aadhaar card and ration cards made. This is legally wrong. Investigation has started by registering an FIR in Baradari police station in this regard.
On the other hand, Farhat Sultana claimed “Don’t call me Pakistani, I am Hindustani, Farhat Sultana alias Farida called himself an Indian in front of the police. He says that even though I was born in Pakistan in 1961, but I was only eight months when Bareilly came. I have never seen Pakistan. I am Hindustani and I have to live in my country.
Farhat Sultana claims that she has been living in Bareilly for the last 64 years. During this time, he got Aadhaar card, ration card and other government documents made, which was getting the benefit of local facilities.
