Pakistan’s airspace was affected by the international flights of Air India and IndiGo on Thursday. The Tata Group -owned airline Air India reported that flights connecting North America, Britain, Europe and Western Asia are now likely to pass through alternative extended routes.
At the same time, IndiGo said that some of its international flights have been affected due to a sudden closure of Pakistan. The neighboring country on Thursday said that it would not allow Indian aircraft to use its airspace due to the increasing tension between India and Pakistan due to the Pahalgam terror attack.
AI India said in a post on ‘X’ that the announcement of a ban on Pakistan airspace for all Indian aviation companies is likely that some flights from North America, Britain, Europe and West Asia or coming from there will use some flights alternative extended routes.
The airline said, “Air India regrets the inconvenience caused to our passengers due to the unexpected airspace closure. It is out of our control.”
IndiGo said that some of our international flights are being affected due to Pakistan’s sudden declaration of airspace closure. The company said in a post on ‘X’, “We can understand that it (from the aircraft closure) may cause inconvenience and our teams are trying their best to help you reach their destination as soon as possible.
