The Allahabad High Court has granted bail to the person accused of raping a postgraduate student, saying that the victim herself invited the trouble and is responsible for the incident. The accused arrested in December 2024 for the alleged rape of the woman in Delhi said the act was done with consent. Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh said that this court believes that even if the victim’s charge is accepted as true, it can be concluded that he himself invited trouble and is also responsible for this.
The court said that although his medical examination found his vaginal torn, the doctor did not give any decisive opinion regarding sexual harassment. The High Court also said that the victim was a postgraduate student, as a postgraduate student, was sufficiently mature and capable to understand “the morality and importance of her actions”, as she said in her revelations before the police. The case is in September 2024, when a student of a university in Noida went to Hauz Khas in Delhi with three female friends. There, he allegedly met some male acquaintances, including the accused.
