The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday approved 24 agendas in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It was decided to give a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 to state artists. An administrative approval of Rs 882.87 crore was given for the development of Punaura Dham of Sitamarhi. Nitish wrote on X that I am very happy to tell that the plan to construct other structures including the grand temple to develop the birthplace of the world mother Janaki, Sitamarhi, has been approved by the cabinet today.

Bihar CM further wrote that today 882 crore 87 lakh has been approved for the large scheme prepared for the overall development of Punauradham in the cabinet. This scheme will be functioned soon. I have directed to laying the foundation stone till August. We are committed to complete the construction of a grand temple in Punauradham, Sitamarhi soon. Its development will be done on the lines of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi pilgrimage area, Ayodhya. The construction of a grand temple of Maa Janaki in Punaradham is a matter of good luck and pride for all the countrymen and especially for all of us Biharis.

In another decision, a new scheme called Mukhyamantri Guru Shishya Tradition Scheme will be launched, for which ₹ 1.11 crore has been approved as annual interest for this scheme. In the meeting, ₹ 36.35 crore has been sanctioned for the year 2025-26 under the National Natural Farming Mission. This scheme promotes farming without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Also, ballot papers for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 will be printed by Kolkata -based Saraswati Press Limited.
