Delhi Police has arrested four people for robbing a 53 -year -old owner of pastry shop at a knife in Patparganj area of East Delhi. An official gave this information on Monday.
Police said the incident occurred on June 20 when Vinod Kumar Sharma, a resident of Noida and owner of the pastry shop in Patparganj, was stopped by three motorcycle riding miscreants near Bansal Sweets.
He said that the robbers threatened him on the knife, assaulted him and forcibly snatched his car and escaped from the spot. Police said the accused have been identified as Shane Alam alias Majid (25), Prince alias Sunny (18), Himanshu (18) and Tanuj (20). They are all residents of East Delhi.
He said that the stolen car has been found in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), East Delhi, Abhishek Dhania said, several teams were formed to catch the accused after the incident.
The official said that comprehensive CCTV footage and call data revealed the activity of the accused being around Sanjay Lake metro station. He said that on the basis of clues, the police team searched near the metro premises and during this time the four suspects tried to escape, but after some time they were caught.
The DCP said, during interrogation, the suspects initially tried to mislead the police, but later confessed to the robbery. He said that the stolen car was hidden in Haridwar.
