Four tourists from Haryana died while another person was seriously injured when a car collided with a cement -filled truck in Clementown area of Dehradun early Sunday.
Police said here that the accident took place near Asharodi at 3:30 pm when the truck coming from Saharanpur towards Dehradun suddenly applied brakes and the white colored Maruti Ritz car running behind it entered it. The collision was so tremendous that the car was badly damaged and the car riders faced a lot of difficulties.
Police said that the youths were evacuated and sent to the hospital immediately where four doctors declared four dead. Police said that the condition of another youth remains critical, who is being treated.
According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Ankush, a resident of Purkhas Dhiran in Sonepat district, Ankit, resident of Julana in Jind district and Naveen, a resident of Khedi in Rohtak district, while Vinay is seriously injured.
The age of the victims of the accident is being told between 25 and 30 years and they were coming to visit Dehradun. Police said that the families of the youth have been informed.
He said that the truck is being interrogated in connection with the incident by taking possession of the truck. Aftab is a resident of Sheikhpura Kadim of Dehat Kotwali area of Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
