Frederick Merge became ‘Advani’ of Germany, what options next after lagging behind in the first round?

Not only the Bharatiya Janata Party, but in the history of Jana Sangh and BJP, LK Advani is considered ‘living legend’. But still his dream of becoming PM remained incomplete. In these circumstances, some big journalists started calling him PM in waiting. But in spite of Germany other than India, from February, the Frederick Merge, called Chancellor in the Voting in Parliament, has faced a very shocking situation. He did not get an absolute majority in the first phase of voting. Attempts to become a conservative leader of the 10th Chancellor of the part of the Frederick Merge failed by six votes in the first round of voting in Parliament on Tuesday. This defeat of Merge was extremely surprising as it was widely expected that he would win easily. Since the end of World War II, no candidate for the post of Chancellor has ever failed to win the first voting. In secret voting, the merge required 316 votes out of 630 to get a majority. He got only 310 votes, which is much lower than 328 seats near his alliance.

The parties will now unite again to discuss their next step, but it was not immediately clear how long this process would take. The lower house of Parliament, ‘Bundestag’, has 14 days to choose a candidate with an absolute majority. Merge may contest again, but other MPs can also try their luck. If the merge or other candidates fail to get a majority during this 14 -day period, the Constitution allows the President to appoint the most voting candidate or dissolve ‘Bundestag’ and hold a new national election. Last year, the outgoing Chancellor Olaf Sholz’s government wants to take over the command of Germany after the fall of the government and if this happens, he will be the first Conservative leader to become a Chancellor of Germany after World War II. Germany is the largest economy in the European continent with the most populous member in the European Union (EU), members of twenty -seven countries and is also important from diplomatic point of view.

What option is next in front of Chancellor in waiting
Merge did not get an absolute majority in Bundestag. He got only 310 votes in the first phase of voting. This number is six votes less than absolute majority. There are a total of 630 members in the German Parliament. CDU/CSU and SPD, who are involved in the alliance of the merge, have 328 MPs or votes. Why Marts could not gather a majority, where there was a mess in voting, it is not clear yet. But it has been decided that from February, the merge, called Chancellor these waiting, will have to wait some more. According to German law, the second phase of voting will take place if the absolute majority are not proved in the first phase.
