Union Minister Giriraj Singh demanded that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and former Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik be honored with the highest civilian honor Bharat Ratna. Along with this, he fiercely targeted Congress and Rahul Gandhi. The outspoken BJP leader echoed this sentiment in his Lok Sabha constituency Begusarai and heaped praise on his current ally Nitish Kumar and former alliance partner Naveen Patnaik, who was ousted from power by the saffron party earlier this year.
Giriraj Singh said Bihar was known for dilapidated roads, schools and buildings until Nitish Kumar came to power, who took the state to new heights. Similarly, Naveen Patnaik served Odisha for so many years. Leaders like him deserve the highest honor like Bharat Ratna. He said that today on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Atal ji, we dedicated the pavilion of Gandhi Stadium in Begusarai as Atal Pavilion with the help of IOCL.
He said that when the 1971 war happened, Atal ji said that there is one leader in a country, whereas today the leader of the opposition does not play the role of LOP but wears a black belt and becomes a bouncer and pushes the MPs with his power. He said that while hating Baba Saheb Ambedkar all his life, Congress not only defeated him twice but also gave Bharat Ratna to Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi but not to Baba Saheb. He should apologize to the country.
