Under the tops, the players of the core group are given Rs 50000 and the developmental players are given Rs 25000 per month. At the same time, players involved in the Target Asian Games Group (TAGG) get OPA of Rs 50000 per month. For this, Hockey India will hand over the list of 80 players to the Sports Authority of India (SAI) every month, which means that there will also be scope for change. It will also be basically a player and junior players in the Senior Core Group who are regularly part of the national teams.
Hockey India president Dilip Tirkey welcomed the decision, saying that this will further increase the morale of the players before the upcoming important tournaments. “We want to thank the ministry who took this important decision.
