Police said that nine people, including eight members of the same family, were present in the car. The driver lost control of the vehicle
According to police, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to which the car fell into a canal near Mundri village. He said the driver was saved, but seven other people in the vehicle drowned. Police said that a 12-year-old girl named Komal is missing and efforts are on to find her. He said that the deceased have been identified as Satwinder (50), Chameli (65), Teejo (45), Fiza (16), Vandana (10), Riya (10) and Ramandeep (6). All the people were residents of Deeg village of Kaithal.
PM consoled on death
Prime Minister Modi also reacted to the tragic accident. Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the accident as heartbreaking and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He said that the local administration is making every possible effort to help the state government in monitoring it.
