To conduct the Haryana Assembly elections in a completely fair and transparent manner, all the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India as well as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) are being strictly followed.

Law enforcement agencies have seized narcotics, liquor and cash worth Rs 26.82 crore since the Model Code of Conduct came into force on August 16 for the Haryana Assembly polls, an Election Commission official said.

Chief Electoral Officer Pankaj Aggarwal said on Tuesday that all the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India as well as the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) are being strictly followed to conduct the Haryana Assembly elections to be held on October 5 in a completely fair and transparent manner.

He informed that the commission is taking a tough stand to prevent voters from being influenced by any kind of inducement and various agencies are keeping a strict vigil on the movement of illicit liquor, narcotics and cash in the state. The official informed that from August 16 to September 16, a total of illicit liquor, narcotics and unaccounted cash worth Rs 26.82 crore has been seized.
